2 drawer low table

This is a beautiful little piece–it is made to look like a table sitting on a table. Notice the well worn top, fluted sides and pretty carved apron. The cabriole legs rest on balls, mimicking a popular European style, yet the entire table is only eleven inches tall. Kang tables were occasional tables to use on the huge platform “kang” beds found in the North of China. When the weather was very cold people carried on daily activities from the warmth of the bed, which was covered with furs and blankets and often surrounded by rugs hanging on the walls.
