Cage Caibnet


The upper section has four swing doors; the middle doors open away from the center and the outer doors open towards the center. In the lower section, four screen doors slide horizontally. The doors are paneled and adorned with beautifully pierced fretwork in traditional geometric patterns. The lower section has three drawers with brass pulls.
This is a wonderful example of features that make Chinese antiques so highly desired: beautiful, graceful and clean design, eminent functionality and sturdy construction. The structure of this Chinese cabinet, which is consistent with traditional handcrafted antiques, confirms its authenticity: the four easily removable upper doors are supported by wooden pin hinges; and the cabinet is assembled with tenon and mortise joinery that requires no glue, nails or other mechanical joining device.This tall cabinet was handcrafted from the core of an fir wood tree with Ming dynasty simplicity
